Police have confirmed that a second house has been searched - in Stanwell, Surrey - in relation to the Parsons Green terror attack.

The raid at an address in the village in the Spelthorne borough, on Sunday (September 17) has been linked to an arrest made the previous day in Hounslow.

The 21-year-old man was arrested at around 11.50pm on Saturday (September 16) by detectives from the Met's Counter Terrorism Command investigating the terrorist attack at Parsons Green on Friday (September 15).

It is the second arrest made since the attack. An 18-year-old was arrested by armed police who swooped in on him as he tried to flee the UK, at Dover port, 24 hours after the attack.

A Surrey Police spokesman said: "We are now able to inform you on a number updates in relation to recent police activity in Stanwell and Sunbury following Friday's terrorist incident.

"We can confirm that a search is taking place at a residential address in Stanwell, in connection with the arrest in Hounslow."

"We are supporting the Metropolitan Police with ongoing enquiries," the spokesman added.

"There is increased police activity in the area but no local evacuation will take place."

Residents in Sunbury were given 'one minute' to evacuate as a property was searched on Saturday (September 16).

After a review, police say cordons in the area will now be scaled back.

Surrey Police added: "The cordons at the junctions with Green Lane and Burgoyne Road, and Cavendish Road and Vicarage Road and the footpath in Fisk Close have been removed.

"Policing activity will continue in the area however there are no safety risks associated with this.
