A teenager accused of planting a bomb which partially exploded on a packed Tube train at Parsons Green station is standing trial from Monday (March 5).

Ahmed Hassan Mohammed Ali, 18, from Sunbury, has denied charges of attempted murder and using the chemical compound TATP to cause an explosion likely to endanger life.

A total of 29 people were hurt when an improvised explosive device, allegedly planted in a bucket, was detonated on the train on September 15 2017.

Iraqi refugee Mr Ali is alleged to have built the device and placed it on the District line train.

The case is being heard at the Old Bailey in central London.
