Firefighters were called to Paddington on Tuesday morning (April 21) to battle a blaze at a takeaway with flats above.

Four fire engines and 21 firefighters tackled the fire after part of the the shop’s ducting – the restaurant’s extraction system - caught light, as well as part of a flat roof at the rear of the building.

Firefighters from Kensington, Paddington and Euston fire stations were called to the scene, in Praed Street, along with police.

London Fire Brigade was called shortly after 8.30am and received 15 calls about the fire. The cause of the blaze is not known at this stage.
