The owner of an Acton cafe damaged in a blaze on Thursday morning (September 22) says he hopes to be back in business within days.
More Munchies, in The Vale, was damaged when fire broke out in the early hours .
Firefighters rescued three children and six adults from the flats above the cafe, and battled to prevent the flames from spreading to the homes.
Despite the cafe being closed for repairs on Thursday afternoon, owner Rouz, who did not want to give his full name, said it would reopen next week.
He added he believes the fire started in the cooker, as a result of "wear and tear."
He told getwestlondon : "Next week we will be back up and running.
"It was a small flame in the cooker that turned into a large flame. Wear and tear, it happens in any business.
"We were going to refurbish for Christmas so we are pushing it forward. Before Christmas we will have a brand new shop."
'Lots of smoke'
Firefighters were called to More Munchies in The Vale at 1.28am, and had extinguished the fire by 5.14am. Part of the cafe's ground floor was damaged by the fire.
Manager of neighbouring eatery O! Burger, Martin Matin, witnessed the fire and said: "First there was a lot of smoke, then police cars and then the fire brigade were cutting the shutter.
"Then they emptied all the flats upstairs just for safety. I hope they get back soon. I heard him (the owner) say it was just a week.
"People were distressed. We had come out and there were children, everyone had been sleeping."
