A salon owner in Hounslow landed himself a hefty fine for offering unlicensed treatments to customers despite previous warnings.

Businessman Danny Lewis of Danny & Guy on Vicarage Farm Road had been providing services including ear piercing, facials, massages, manicures and pedicures without having a licence.

The breach led to him receiving a £200 fine for advertising ear piercing, a £115 fine for advertising other treatments, a victim surcharge of £20 and was ordered to pay council’s costs of £500, a total penalty of £835.

He was given the reduced fee after he pleaded guilty early on to two charges under section 14 (1) of the London Local Authorities Act 1991 (Part II Special Treatments) at Feltham Magistrates Court on March 7.

An earlier visit from Hounslow council's health and safety officers advised Mr Lewis to stop advertising unlicensed special treatments, but he chose to ignore this.
