The opening of a naked nightclub in Soho on Friday (October 7) had to be cancelled due to an apparent lack of lockers - but organisers have promised it will still go ahead.

Get Naked London was due to launch at The Takeover bar offering visitors the chance to attend in the nude, and rewarding those who got their kit off with a bottle of bubbly.

But organisers took to Facebook this week to announce the night had to be cancelled, reportedly due to high demand and a lack of lockers.

Organiser Josh Walker said on Twitter: "We are building lockers as we speak ... (in the nude)!"

A statement read: "Sorry to be the 'barers' of bad news but our launch event is being postponed - check back soon for the next date! ."

Mr Walker, whose PR company look after the "clothing venture", said its launch will be in line with London's bold and liberal outlook towards nakedness.

"We're selling tickets like hotcakes", he told getwestlondon before the intended launch.

It's not the first of its kind to launch in London this summer, with London's first nudist bar terrace opening in Westminster for the "no strings" generation.

Nudity also got the capital in a frenzy after a naked pop-up restaurant, Bunyadi, opened its doors in the warmer months this year.

However, an application to open a fellatio cafe was just one step too far for Westminster council, which said it could not give the project the go ahead.
