Two new London Overground stations could be built in west London as part of London's biggest new development.

Stations at Hythe Road and Old Oak Common Lane could flank the proposed Old Oak Common Interchange, which would link HS2 with the Crossrail.

This transport hub is at the core of a development which has the potential to deliver 25,500 new homes and bring 65,000 jobs, according to Transport for London (TfL).

TfL is consulting on the move, which formed part of Mayor of London Sadiq Khan's transport strategy, published earlier this year.

Hythe Road would be inside the development itself

It is said the move would bring 250,000 more people to the area and create 150,000 more jobs within an hour's journey of Old Oak.

The proposed Hythe Road site is 700 metres from the interchange within the development.

The site at Old Oak Common Lane, meanwhile, is 300 metres from the interchange, between Old Oak Common and Midland Terrace.

This consultation follows an earlier 2014 debate on the project in partnership with National Rail and the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), co-funded by the European Commission.

The stations would be served by the London Overground

Alex Williams, TfL's director for city planning, said: "These two potential new London Overground stations would improve connectivity to HS2 and support the regeneration at Old Oak and Park Royal.

"Delivering these would further build on the regeneration benefits of HS2 and the Elizabeth line and would help support new homes, jobs and opportunities for thousands of Londoners."

TfL have published initial designs and locations for a public consultation due to last five weeks.
