Images have been released of a most-prized possession recovered by police during a stop and search in Shepherd's Bush .

Police constable, PC Warrilow, part of Hammersmith and Fulham borough policing, carried out the search and found a female with a decorated OBE - Officer of the Order of the British Empire) medal.

Officers have released images of the medal, on Twitter, in their quest to reunite the owner with their treasured lost piece.

The coveted award is one of the most prestigious medals which is given to a person that has played a major role in their local area.

It comes in a black box with the letters O.B.E engraved on the front.

Inside contains the tassled ribbon and medallion.
