A Northolt road is described as being "like an ice rink" after two cars crashed and leaked oil at the scene on Sunday morning (November 12).

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision in Mandeville Road in Ealing shortly after 8am on Sunday.

Two women and a 14-year-old were hospitalised for non life-threatening injuries.

While London Fire Brigade confirmed it left the scene at around 9.30am the road remained closed at 12.30pm.

Metropolitan Police confirmed that oil spilled from the damaged vehicles following the collision meant the road was unsafe for motorists.

A Met Police spokesman said: "The road is currently like an ice rink because of all the oil spilled onto it by the damaged vehicles.

"Officers are waiting for workers from Ealing council to attend the scene and clear the spillage."

Mandeville Road will remain closed until the oil spillage is cleared.

The 140 bus route has been diverted at Mandeville Road following the collision.

TfL advised passenger to catch the bus at Northolt Road or Northolt Station instead.
