Eight males have been arrested on suspicion of firearms offences after reports of a shooting in North Kensington on Wednesday (October 25).

At around 8.22pm, officers from Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a shooting by suspects on a moped at a commercial property in Latimer Road.

After the alleged shooting, which took place near the junction of North Pole Road, no one was found at the scene and the suspects had made off.

A spokesman for the force said a police helicopter was deployed and an area search was conducted.

Eight males were later detained in Hatfield Road in Acton and arrested on suspicion of firearms offences.

They have been taken to police stations in London.

No firearms have been recovered at this time and enquiries continue to establish whether a shooting took place.

Road closures are in place around the crime scene and were in place throughout the night.
