Three people have been arrested after a car collided with two police officers in Neasden, leaving them in hospital.

The PCs, based in Brent borough, were returning to their marked police vehicle on the A406 North Circular Road, near Brent Park, when the crash happened at 3.40am on Sunday (December 17).

Brent MPS tweeted at around 8am saying the officers remained "in resus".

Metropolitan Police said in a statement: "Three people has been arrested after two officers were injured in a road traffic collision.

"The officers have been taken to hospital. We await an update on their conditions.

"Three people (no further details) including the driver of the vehicle were arrested at the scene.

"Road closures have been put in place while emergency services deal, and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
