Parts of the A406 North Circular were closed in the early hours of Saturday (March 18) morning following an industrial fire in Neasden .

A car workshop in Village Way was completely gutted by the fire, which started at around 4.30am.

Fears that gas cylinders on the site could explode also resulted in local police evacuating around 40 people from nearby properties as a precaution.

As a result, the A406 was closed in both directions from Staples Corner to Drury Way, resulting in queues, according to Transport for London (TfL).

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters from Park Royal, Wembley , Acton, Willesden and Hendon battled the flames at the single storey workshop, and spent nearly three hours at the scene.

No one was injured, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
