A nine-year-old Harrow boy has completed his first 60km bike ride around London to raise money for local charities.

Syan Shah took part in the ride around London - on Saturday and Sunday, (June 6 and 7) - as part of the Nightrider organisation, who organise sponsored charity events.

He set off on his journey at 11pm on Saturday, with his dad and uncle, finishing at 6.30am the following day.

Syan was first inspired to take part after seeing his dad complete a 100km bike ride with the same organisation last year.

This extraordinary accomplishment has so far raised more than £1,000 for his three chosen charities: Shanti Seva Trust, Big Hug Foundation and Refuge.

Syan's mum, Avnie Shah, said: “Syan was focused and determined from the beginning and thrived on the challenge.

“He is now looking forward to the next stepping stone and concentrating on his preparation for his 11+ exams.”
