A number of Tesco stores in west London will now open all night every Friday and Saturday following last week's launch of the Night Tube .

The food giant began trialling 24-hour opening times at stores in North Acton , Haven Green, Holland Park, Bayswater and Dean Street, starting from the launch of the operation on Friday (August 19).

They will be open through the night on Fridays and Saturdays as part of a trial, but bosses at the food chain have said the trial will last "indefinitely".

All stores are relatively close to the Central Line which, along with the Victoria Line, were the only two in operation from the launch of the Night Tube.

The service will then expand to the Piccadilly, Jubilee and Northern Lines in the autumn.

Tesco's London convenience director, Martin Smith, said: "London is such a vibrant and exciting place to live, work and visit and the Night Tube provides people with a great way to experience the city at a time that suits them best.

"At Tesco we're always looking for new ways to serve London's customers whenever it is most convenient to them.

"That's why we're delighted to announce these new opening hours at select stores, helping to make life easier for those either working late or enjoying London’s nightlife."
