The mobile office, a specialist employment and training service, will be open for business on Monday (July 13) to help the people of Hounslow who are looking for work or want to improve their career prospects.
The launch of Careers Coach is funded by Hounslow Council and Sky, and is part of the Work Hounslow service, which will be around on a weekly basis in Hounslow (Mondays) and Feltham (Wednesdays) town centres.
The office-on-wheels is equipped with nine computer stations, Wi-Fi, offers on-the-spot CV, careers advice and employment and training information to people in and out of work.
People can drop in and speak to an advisor or make an appointment, staff can suggest suitable job vacancies, and help people take the next step on their career ladder with free training.
There is also specialist support for young people who want to find out more about apprenticeship opportunities.
Councillor Sue Sampson, cabinet member for communities, said: “We’re committed to helping local people secure local jobs.
"Careers Coach is the latest addition to our Work Hounslow offer.
“From opportunities at Heathrow to the growing digital and media sector we have in the borough, we want our residents to be best placed to secure local jobs.
"By offering free training and employment advice we can give them the skills they need to secure work or improve their career prospects."
It is available to anyone, regardless if they are in or out of work or whether or not they receive benefits.
Other partners include Citizens Advice Bureau; Volunteering Hounslow; Redwood Skills; Heathrow Academy; and Action Acton.
