A £12 million purpose-built outpatient cancer service has opened in Chelsea .
HCA at Sydney Street will offer rapid and convenient access to consultant-led cancer services, including private oncology, haematology and chemotherapy in south west London.
Patients there will also benefit from advanced treatments , with the centre housing one of the first digital PET CT scanners in the capital, which reduces the dose of radiation during scanning by up to 50%, making it safer for patients and helping to diagnose and stage cancers much earlier.
It is operated by HCA Healthcare UK, part of the world’s largest private hospital group.
The facility will also have a blood laboratory, allowing rapid turnaround times on blood tests, and an aseptic pharmacy manufacturing suite to produce and dispense all treatments to patients on site.
The centre is part of HCA Healthcare UK’s The Lister Hotel, a 57-bed private hospital, supported by intensive and critical care, in Chelsea.
Suzy Jones, chief executive of The Lister Hospital, said: “The Sydney Street facility allows us to provide cutting edge cancer services to our patients close to home, with support from The Lister Hospital and the wider HCA UK network when needed.
“We always strive to provide exceptional services to our patients and I am proud to say that this facility will help us provide the very best cancer treatment and care available."
