A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a woman in Hillingdon.

Police were called at about 5.10 this morning (Saturday March 7) following reports of a woman suffering stab injuries at a home in Pinkwell Lane.

Officers, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended. The 25-year-old woman was taken to a north London hospital where she was pronounced dead at 6.24am.

Next of kin have been informed and police are awaiting formal identification. A post-mortem examination is underway at Uxbridge Mortuary.

A 22-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and he remains in custody.

Detectives are not looking for anyone else in relation to the investigation.

An incident room has opened under Detective Chief Inspector Andy Chalmers of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
