First we told you Glastonbury was coming to town . Then we revealed two legends of Ska would be playing on one stage . Now the Fulham's burgeoning reputation as a Mecca for music has been given a further boost with news that the sound of Nashville will soon be heard.

The Coffee & Country Festival is the brainchild of Ida Ahlbom, who loves the genre of music.

The one-day festival has been arranged by the the 24-year-old and will take place at two cafes on April 28.

Ida wanted to showcase the best of Country music bands based in Britain and has got together 10 bands to perform.

Fulham is fast becoming the music capital of London, with a series of concerts and festivals taking place this summer .

Ida said: “Country is not as big in the UK as it is in America. But there are so many artists here who are so talented and I wanted to create a base for them to showcase their music in front of a UK audience.”

The Coffee & Country Festival will be held The Lekkerbek in Effie Road and Label Deli in Fulham Road and is trying to replicate the vibe of the world-famous Bluebird Café in Nashville.

Ida lives in Fulham but is from Sweden. She is a third year music business student at university and said: “I’m a huge Country fan. I lived in America for a while which is where I started loving it.

“I love going to these coffee shops, I go there every day so it was an easy choice when choosing a venue.”

The event is free to customers, with neither the acts or the venues charging. Money made will go to The Haven - a national charity based in Fulham providing personalised care and support for people with breast cancer, helping them to achieve the best possible quality of life.
