A motorcyclist has died in Kensington in a hit-and-run incident involving a cement lorry.

The driver of the lorry failed to stop at the scene, at the junction of Holland Road and Kensington High Street, after the collision at around 10am on Tuesday (March 10).

The lorry was later recovered and the driver spoke to police. He was not arrested.

London Ambulance Service was called but the male motorcyclist, in his late 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene next to the Universal Music headquarters.

A Met Police spokesman said: "We believe we know the identity of the deceased but we have not yet notified his next of kin.

"A post-mortem examination will take place in due course."

No arrests have been made and road closures are still in place. Enquiries continue.
