The mother of a man who was sexually assaulted in the toilets of Charing Cross Station has said her son continues to relive what happened.

British Transport Police reported a 25-year-old man with Down’s Syndrome used the toilets in the Westminster station at around 8.15pm on Saturday, December 10, where he was touched inappropriately by a man who then exposed himself.

In a fresh appeal, the victim's mother has asked for anyone with information on the incident to come forward.

“This was a very traumatic experience for my son who continues to relive what happened." said the mother, who cannot be named for legal reasons.

"I feel like this man saw my son as an easy target and I urge anyone who might know who he is to get in touch as soon as you can."

She describes her son as around 5ft 2in tall, of slim build and said that he was wearing a hooded top and black coat at the time of the incident.

She said: “You may have seen him near the toilets at the station or seen the offender speaking with him and not thought anything of it, but I would urge you to think again if you were in the station that day and please come forward if you remember any detail that could help with the police investigation.”

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak with in relation to the incident.
