Over 1,000 new homes could be built in two London boroughs, according to MP Greg Hands.

The Chelsea & Fulham Tory said government efforts to get surplus and redundant public sector land brought back into use could help to deliver over 1,100 homes in his constituency.

He said Conservative policy to sell-off surplus and redundant public sector land across the country meant more homes were available for hard-working people.

Speaking to getwestlondon, he said: “As a result, across the two boroughs that make up my constituency, there is now the opportunity to build 1,027 new homes on brownfield sites here in Hammersmith & Fulham, and space for a further 76 new homes on redundant land in the Kensington & Chelsea area.

“Every new home that is delivered in Chelsea & Fulham means one more family able to find a good quality, affordable place to live where they can plan for their future with greater security and peace of mind."
