Nearly 200 cyclists took to the streets of Kensington & Chelsea for a five-mile ride to support local health and well-being charities.

The Right Royal Ride, hosted by the council and the Kensington & Chelsea Foundation, was organised to raise awareness of a number of local charities that support people living with mental health conditions.

The charities include SMART, West London Action for Children, HELP Counselling Centre, Woman’s Trust, Al-Hasaniya Moroccan Women’s Centre, Dalgarno Trust and Kensington & Chelsea Mind.

The cycle ride took place on April 25 and started and finished in Holland Park which was the scene of a number of fun and cycle-themed activities.

Choirs from the council’s community singing programme, Live to Sing, Sing to Live, serenaded the cyclists at the start and finish of the ride.

Other events and activities which took place in the park included performances by Doc Bowling and the Blues Professors and SMART’s Band, all presented by BBC London’s Jumoke Fashola.

There were also hands-on activities to try including: Sew Portobello craft workshop, print-making with ACAVA, pedal-powered smoothie bike and bike maintenance.
