A body, believed to be that of a man, has been recovered from the River Thames .

Police were called to the scene, close to Vauxhall Bridge, at 10.20am on Saturday, February 25 to a body in the water.

A spokesman from the Met Police said: "Officers from the Marine Support Unit attended, along with colleagues from the RNLI.

"A body, believed to be that of a man, was recovered from the river.

"A post-mortem examination and formal identification will be arranged in due course."
