A group of men were attacked with weapons including a baton and metal pole during a violent assault, police have said.

The four victims were at a bus stop in The Avenue, Cranford, when they were allegedly set upon by up to seven Asian men in the early hours of February 14.

The attackers are reported to have fled the scene in two vehicles, one of which is believed to be a black Audi A3, following the attack at about 2am.

All four victims, who say they did not know their attackers, required hospital treatment.

Police, who have yet to make any arrests, today appealed for witnesses to come forward.
