McDonald's fans can now enjoy table service after an upgrade at the Uxbridge restaurant.

Customers of Uxbridge McDonald's will now be able to have their Big Macs and Happy Meals served to them at their seats in a "dramatic" table service transformation.

The High Street branch has undergone a “new, exciting transformation” following local franchisee Cliff Webb’s investment in improving the experience for local customers.

Digital innovation is said to be at the heart of the transformation, with big changes focusing on providing customers with more choice as to how they order and pay, adapting how the food is prepared and served and offering new technological features to “create an environment that is even more welcoming and enjoyable”.

With the new addition of table service, customers will be able to order from the new digital kiosks and will now have the option of having their food delivered direct to their table.

The restaurant will still offer the option of ordering at the till.

Cliff Webb, runs 12 restaurants across Greater London and Oxford, including the restaurant being transformed on Uxbridge High Street.

He said: “We’re thrilled with the transformation because we’re committed to offering our customers’ more choice and fast service.

“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our customers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’ve introduced recognises the way people live their lives today.

Uxbridge McDonald's staff will be on hand to bring your food to you

Customers will be able to use “state of the art, self-order kiosks”, allowing them to browse the entire menu and check out the nutritional information of each meal at the same time.

Once customers have completed their order, they pay by card or contactless, and then go straight to a designated area of the counter to pick up their order or take a seat for table service.

"I expect the feedback to be positive"

Mr Webb added: “The addition of table service enables customers to order at the self-order kiosk and then sit down at a designated zone to get served.

“From mums coming in with their kids, to people having a working lunch, I expect the feedback to be positive.”

McDonald's trialled table service in 14 restaurants across England, proving very successful and popular with customers.

As a result, table service will now begin to roll out throughout 2016 to many of the restaurants undergoing digital transformations like the one in Uxbridge.

By the end of this year, over 400 restaurants across the UK will offer table service to their customers.

Paul Pomroy, CEO of McDonald’s UK, said: “We are confident that the investment we are making will bring new and exciting changes to McDonald’s in Uxbridge and across the rest of the UK.

“We’ve listened to customer feedback and know we need to modernise further in order to move the McDonald’s experience on, and remain relevant to the lives of the 3 million customers that we serve daily.

“Our converted restaurants like this one in Uxbridge will deliver a fast and easy experience, aided by digital and traditional ordering points ensuring we continue to be enjoyed by our customers.”
