Fire crews were called to the scene of a flats blaze in Mayfair on Tuesday morning (May 30).

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters tackled the fire in a third-floor flat , above a shop in Mount Street.

A spokesman for London Fire Brigade said: "Part of a third-floor flat and part of the flat roof at third floor level were damaged by fire.

"The brigade was called at 08:10 and the fire was under control at 09:46.

"Fire crews from Soho, Euston, Paddington and Chelsea fire stations attended the scene."

Westminster Police were also in attendance, posting to Twitter to announce a road closure.

London Fire Brigade said Mount Street was the only road affected by the closure.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
