Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters were called to tackle a blaze at a café in Fulham on Friday afternoon (May 29).

London Fire Brigade attended the scene at around 4.45pm.

Thick black smoke was picture billowing from Tasty's café, in Fulham High Street, and the fire brigade advised people to avoid the area.

Tweeting about the blaze, the brigade said: "Heavy traffic around Fulham High St as we deal with a café blaze. Please avoid the area if possible."

The fire affected the ground and first floors of the building. The ducting (extraction system) was also involved.

One man was treated by London Ambulance Service for burns.

The fire was brought under control by 6.05pm by crews from Fulham, Clapham, Wansworth, Hammersmith and Soho.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
