A man has been treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in the kitchen of a restaurant in Shepherd’s Bush .

The incident happened in Uxbridge Road in the early hours of Tuesday (October 31).

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters were called to the restaurant , which has flats above it, shortly before 2am.

They battled flames for more than two hours to bring the fire under control.

London Fire Brigade (LFB) reported that one person left the building before the arrival of firefighters and was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken to a hospital by paramedics.

The flames were under control at 4.13am.

Fire investigators believe the fire was started when a cupboard was placed on a charcoal grill which had been left on.

Part of the ground and first floors and all of the ducting from ground to second floor was damaged by fire.
