A man in his 40s has been rushed to hospital after he was stabbed in the stomach in Hounslow .

The male is believed to have suffered serious injuries following the incident which took place on Thursday (October 6) morning.

Emergency services including the police were called to reports of a stabbing in Great West Road in Hounslow at around 8am.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "We were called at 7.56am to Great West Road in Hounslow to reports of a man in his 40s stabbed in the stomach.

"He was taken to a central London hospital.

"He has suffered serious injuries."

The air ambulance was spotted near the Civic Centre circling around Lampton Road, Hounslow.

London's Air Ambulance's advanced trauma team was dispatched via helicopter by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) to the scene at around 8.30am.

A LAS spokesperson said: “We were called at 8am, on October 6 to reports of a stabbing at Great Road West, Hounslow.

“We sent two ambulance crews and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.

“We treated a man at the scene for an abdominal injury and took him as a priority to hospital."
