Two men were rushed to hospital with injuries including stab wounds after an assault took place outside Harlesden station.

A 27 year-old was found by police officers with stab wounds to his shoulder and the side of his body, while the other man, also 27, was found to have an injury to his ear.

The altercation took place at 5am on Monday morning (August 18) in Acton Lane, Harlseden.

Both men were taken to hospital, their injuries were not life threatening.

A 27-year-old and 18-year old have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm, officers from Brent are investigating.

People took to Twitter as police cordoned off the area, @ReeceAMullin wrote: "What happened at Harlesden station?.... there was just police and it was surrounded by police tape."             

Another Twitter user, @DavidBird7777 wrote: "I'm not sure if it was the train station or the bus stop outside but police were taping the area off at 5.30."

A spokesman from the London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 5am on the morning of Monday, August 18 to reports of a stabbing in Acton Lane, NW10.

"We treated a man in his 20's, he was taken to hospital by ambulance.

"We were also called at 5.20am to reports of an assault in Acton Lane, we treated a man believed to be in his 20's for an ear injury, he was also taken to hospital."
