A witness appeal has been launched after a man was allegedly sprayed in the face with a "noxious substance" and required hospital treatment.

Hounslow Police said a 20-year-old man was the target of two youths who tried to rob him in Brentford.

Officers in Hounslow were called to the High Street following reports of a man sprayed with a noxious substance at 6.36pm on Monday (May 8).

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service took the young victim to a west London hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

The male did not suffer any life changing injuries and has since been discharged from hospital following treatment.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses who saw what happened or anyone who has any information that could assist the investigation.

A 16-year-old youth and an 18-year-old- man have been arrested and charged for possession of a prohibited weapon.
