A man who stabbed a 19-year-old in Harrow has been jailed for causing grievous bodily harm (GBH).

Hasan Bolat, of Russell Road, Hendon, pleaded guilty to one count of wounding with intent to cause GBH and one count of possessing an offensive weapon at Harrow Crown Court on Monday (July 27).

The 20-year-old was sentenced to 24-months imprisonment and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.

On February 13, a 19-year-old man was found with stab wounds in the Grove Open Space area, in Lowlands Road.

Bolat was charged on February 20 and appeared before Hendon Magistrates' Court on February 21 where he was remanded in custody.

Police said Bolat's victim was a fellow student at Harrow College.

An altercation took place between Bolat and the man after a class and he stabbed him three times, according to officers, before driving off on a motorcycle.

Speaking after the sentencing, Detective Constable Josephine Mensah-Aggrey from Harrow CID said: "This investigation was a team effort and I am pleased with the result.

"I am grateful to the victim and his family for their support throughout the investigation."
