Firefighters rescued a man from sheltered housing block, after a fire broke out in Pinner on Sunday (January 3) afternoon.
The man who was led to safety by crews, after his flat, on a private residential road, Grooms Drive, caught fire.
London Fire Brigade were called at around 2:20pm and he was then taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service suffering from smoke inhalation.
A very small area of the two roomed, first floor flat was damaged by fire.
Two fire engines from Ruislip and Harrow fire stations attended the incident.
It took fire crews just half an hour to tackle the blaze, with the fire under control at 2:53pm.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
