A man has undergone surgery and remains in hospital after being stabbed through his car window in Hounslow earlier this week.

Police are investigating the late-night incident on Vicarage Farm Road at the junction with Bath Road in Heston.

The knife attack happened when the 42-year-old victim rolled down the window in his car after a man approached him on Tuesday (September 13) night at 11.20pm.

He was stabbed in the arm through the open car window before the suspect made off, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police say the driver continued driving along the road before he realised he had been stabbed, police added.

Officers on patrol in the area came across the victim and assisted.

London Ambulance Service (LAS) and London's Air Ambulance were called to the scene.

The man was taken to a central London hospital where he remains.

A LAS spokesperson said: “We treated a patient at the scene and took them as a priority to a hospital in west London."

No arrests have been made. Police enquiries continue.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.

The incident comes one week after a double knife attack in Chiswick on Monday (September 5).
