Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in Uxbridge on Tuesday (August 2) morning.

Police were called to Uxbridge High Street at 3.49am to reports a man had been stabbed.

Officers did not find anyone when they arrived at the scene, but a man later presented himself at a west London hospital with stab wounds.

A Met spokesman said the man, who is in his 20s, was critically injured when he was admitted but was now in a stable condition.

Two men in their 20s were arrested that morning and remained in custody on Tuesday evening.

The High Street was closed on Tuesday morning, at the junction with Vine Street, and officers from Hillingdon CID are investigating the incident.

A 48-year-old man died on Monday (August 1) after being stabbed in Kilburn High Road.

On Sunday (July 31), Sukhjinder Singh died after being stabbed in Southall the previous night.

Friends have paid tribute to the 33-year-old , saying they would miss his "smiling face".
