A 20-year-old from Southall who verbally abused a police officer by calling him a “f***ing pig” while filming him was locked up on Monday (November 20).

On September 1 this year, Mubarak Hussan, of North Parade, approached a police community support officer and began a tirade of verbal abuse towards him.

The PCSO, who was on a cycle patrol at the time, was filmed by Hassan and called “a f***ing pig” in Longridge Lane, Southall .

On Monday (November 20) at Willesden Magistrates' Court, the 20-year-old was ordered to pay £100 of compensation and was given a two-week custodial sentence.

The Southall resident, who was convicted of a section 4a public order, was also convicted for a similar offence one week earlier and will now serve a 12-week sentence overall.

According to Metropolitan Police, the Southall resident was previously found guilty of abusing park guard officers who works for Ealing Council .

A spokesman for Metropolitan Police officers from Dormer Wells took to Twitter after Hassan's court appearance to praise the sentencing.

“Nice to see the courts handing down a decent punishment,” the spokesman said.

“Protect the protectors, great result,” added a spokesman from Norwood Green Police added.
