A man who broke a teenager's jaw has been jailed for nearly three years.

Luca Ali Omar, of Wellington Road South, Hounslow, punched the 19-year-old in the face, knocking him to the ground, where he kicked him in the face.

According to police, the 20-year-old then fled the scene, leaving his victim bleeding heavily, following the attack near the junction of Wellington Road South and Roseheath Road in the early hours of November 9 last year.

Omar admitted GBH (grievous bodily harm) and was sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on Tuesday (May 26) to two years and eight months in prison.

Police said the attack followed a disagreement between the pair, who were known to each other.

The 19-year-old victim managed to get to his home nearby before being taken to Northwick Park Hospital. He required reconstructive surgery and is still recovering from his injuries, said police.

A police spokeswoman added: "Omar will now be serving the consequences of his appalling actions.

"Throughout this investigation we have supported the victim and his family at every stage of this frightening ordeal.

"Clearly an extreme level of violence was used during this incident which could have easily led to a more dire outcome.

"Our message is clear - there is no place in Hounslow for any level violence and we will not rest until we bring offenders like Omar to justice."
