A man has been fined after his dog injured another man in Hanworth.

Louis Coole, of St Albans Avenue, Hanworth, was in charge of the Bullmastiff named Jepetto when it attacked a man in Coole's home street on July 17 last year.

The victim was not seriously injured, and the bench at Feltham Magistrates' Court ruled last Wednesday (January 28) the dog did not constitute a danger of injury to the public.

However, they said that if the animal was not kept under control and fitted with a muzzle in future it must be destroyed. They also ordered Coole to pay a £75 fine, a £20 victim surcharge and £100 in costs.

The 29-year-old had admitted being in charge of a dog which was dangerously out of control causing injury.

Michael Barnes, 20, also of St Albans Avenue, was charged with the same offence but the case against him was dismissed.
