A man has died after being hit by a train at North Sheen station.

Paramedics were called to the station in Manor Lane, where there is a level crossing, shortly before 3pm on Thursday (March 24).

A British Transport Police spokesman said a man was pronounced dead at the scene.

"We are now working to identify the man and inform his family," he added.

"The incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

London's Air Ambulance attended and London Ambulance Service sent two crews, an incident response officer and its hazardous area response team.

South West Trains says services between Barnes and Feltham are being affected.

It has warned passengers to expect disruption until 6pm and said its tickets are being accepted on local buses and District line trains.
