The Metropolitan Police said they were called at 3.06pm to reports of a male injured at a supermarket.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Following initial enquiries detectives believe that there was an altercation inside the supermarket.

"The injured man who was in possession of a knife is believed to have injured himself during the incident."

Police identified the vehicle and followed it to Great Western Road where it was stopped by firearms officers at 4.08pm.

A male and female were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but have since been released with no further action.

Police enquiries into the incident continue.
