Man in court over £1m jewellery raid at X Factor Simon Cowell's Holland Park mansion

A man has appeared in court accused of taking jewellery worth around £1 million from the Holland Park home of X Factor judge Simon Cowell during a burglary .

Darren February was at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court for the brief hearing on Wednesday (October 5), after he was charged with burglary on September 20 following an investigation by officers from Kensington and Chelsea police.

The 32-year-old will next appear at Isleworth Crown Court on November 2.

The music mogul was asleep at his £35m mansion with his partner and child when the break-in happened at around 1.30am on December 4.

Shortly after, a source said: “It was clearly a very traumatic incident. Simon is just relieved that his family was safe and all right.

“Their safety is his number one priority.”

It was later reported that a security guard managed to wrestle back around £500,000 in gems and jewellery from the burglar.
