A man caught in possession of two kilos of cocaine was sentenced to five years in prison at Harrow Crown Court on Friday (October 6).

Kledian Semaj of no fixed address was caught by Metropolitan Police officers taking part in a drug deal in June, the court heard.

He was sentenced to five years in jail after pleading guilty to possession of drugs with intent to supply.

He was sentenced to a further four months in prison for possession of false documents.

The court was told how on June 26 Semaj was seen making an exchange with a person in his silver BMW, in Brentmead Gardens.

Semaj then drove off and the vehicle was subsequently stopped by police.

When asked if there was anything in the vehicle, Semaj openly stated there were drugs in the car. He also had in his possession fraudulent identity documents.

Two kilos of cocaine was recovered in total and was estimated to have a potential street value of £200,000.

Semaj was charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of false documents and pleaded guilty at Harrow Crown Court on September 29.

DC Paul Fuller from the Met's Organised Crime Command team, said: "The sentence reflects the level of criminality involved and should be seen as a deterrent for others who think they can supply drugs without consequences.

"A huge amount of cocaine is now off the streets where it cannot damage local communities."
