A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash in Osterley.

Janusz Adam Partyka died on Sunday morning (February 8) after the collision on the A4 Great West Road, near the junction with Wood Lane, in which the vehicle failed to stop.

A 28-year-old man attended a police station, where he was arrested, on Monday (February 9). He remains in custody and police said the vehicle had also been recovered.

Police were called to the scene on Sunday morning, just before 5am, to reports of a blue BMW being involved in a collision with a pedestrian.

Mr Partyka, 31, who police said lived locally, was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of paramedics.

Detectives are still keen to hear from anyone who may have seen a blue BMW driving away from the scene heading westbound towards Heathrow.

Anyone with information is asked to call officers on 020 8543 5157 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
