A man accused of murdering Sahil Roy in Isleworth has been remanded in custody after appearing in court.

Azeem Issa, 28, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court on Wednesday (April 13) charged with the murder of Mr Roy, also 28.

Issa, of Haweswater House, in Summerwood Road, Isleworth, was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday (April 15). He has yet to enter a plea.

Mr Roy was stabbed to death on the Ivybridge estate, in Summerwood Road, Isleworth, on Sunday (April 10).

Friends have paid tribute, describing him as a "friendly giant".

A post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a stab wound to the throat.

His death followed the stabbing of a 52-year-old man on the estate, near Asda, on Friday, April 1.

Two males, aged 16 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent following that incident and have been bailed to a date in June. Police said the victim's injuries were not life-changing or life-threatening.

On Wednesday (April 13) morning, a man in his 20s was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in Bedfont , near the troubled Watermead estate.

Police and Hounslow Council have arranged a meeting on the Ivybridge estate on Thursday, April 14, where residents can raise any concerns in the wake of recent events.

The meeting, at which the borough commander Detective Chief Superintendent Raj Kohli will be present, is due to take place at the BridgeLink Community Centre, in Summerwood Road, Isleworth, at 7.30pm.
