A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital after a collision in Harrow on Friday (17 July).

A Toyota Yaris was in collision with the male pedestrian on Uxbridge Road eastbound between Ross Close and Carrington Square, Harrow Weald.

The pedestrian, aged 79, was taken to hospital following the incident, where he is being treated for a number of fractures.

Detectives are now appealing for witnesses following the incident.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at around 13.30hrs. Police officers and London Ambulance Service attended the scene.

"The pedestrian's injuries are not thought to be life threatening, but there is concern due to his age.

"No arrests have been made."

The driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene.

The incident caused queueing traffic between the Oxhey Lane junction and Hutton Walk junction after a temporary road closure.
