A 63-year-old man was taken to hospital with a serious head injury following a road accident in Hounslow on Saturday.

London Air Ambulance sent a trauma doctor and paramedic to the crash in Powder Mill Lane, Twickenham at 9.50am, Saturday October 12.

The London Ambulance service said the man was treated immediately at the scene before being taken to St Mary's Hospital. adding: "We were called on Saturday, October 12 at 9.47am to reports of a road traffic collision at Powder Mill Lane. We sent two single responders, an ambulance crew and London’s Air Ambulance to the scene.

“Our staff treated one patient, a 63-year-old man for a head injury. He was taken as a priority to St Mary’s Hospital.”

A witness whose house backs onto the cemetery where she said the helicopter landed, added: "About 4 paramedics ran off in the direction of Powder Mill Lane, nearest to the junction to Hanworth Road.

"There are roadworks currently on Hanworth Road. It is a busy section at best of times but the roadworks are causing a nuisance."
