Made in Chelsea star and west London resident Stephanie Pratt was rushed to hospital this week - after being bitten by a spider.

The 29-year-old, who first rose to fame in The Hills, was temporarily paralysed in the left side of her face by the bite and experienced severe swelling, vomiting and a migraine.

Her spokesman said: “Her face was very swollen as she was bitten just beneath her eye, on the side of her nose. Her eye was almost closed due to the swelling.”

It is unknown what type of spider bit her.

Stephanie had an injection to reduce the swelling and can now move her face.

Her spokesman added: “She regained feeling and movement late yesterday."

However, she is still said to be feeling "a little poorly".

Following the incident, Stephanie recovered enough to write on Twitter: “Just spent nearly four hours at Bupa Cromwell hospital...for a spider bite!!!”

She followed up her tweet by recommending the cake at Bupa Cromwell!

According to Stephanie's recent autobiography, Made In Reality, the spider bite is not the first dramatic incident to occur in the reality star's life.

In her book, she revealed that she used to smoke crystal meth up to 13 times a day at school and later became dangerously addicted to prescription drugs.

The American star - sister to Spencer Pratt - claimed that the turning point in her life came when she was arrested in Hawaii in 2006 for trying to steal $4,000 worth of designer clothes while high.

Hopefully Stephanie will steer clear of west London creepy crawlies in the future - particularly ex Spencer Matthews!
