The first retailer in Ealing 's Dickens Yard will open next year, it has been announced.

British fashion retailer Jigsaw, which originally opened in Hampstead in 1972, will open its doors from Autumn 2018.

It will link the two primary, public open squares with the mixed use development.

Developers St George said it will soon announce other Dickens Yard openings including other retailers, restaurants and leisure operators.

Managing director, Craig Carson, said: "St George is delighted that Jigsaw is the first retailer to sign-up at Dickens Yard.

"Dickens Yard will be an exciting mix of new homes, shops, restaurants and leisure offers which will bring a new energy to the town centre."

The Dickens Yard development is centred in Ealing and is set to be completed in 2019.

A total of 496 homes have already been built, of which most are occupied out of 700 planned, alongside 104,000 sq ft of retail space and public space.

Chief executive of Jigsaw, Peter Ruis, added: "We are delighted to be opening a new store in Ealing town centre, fronting the new public square currently being delivered by St George.

"We look forward to being part of Dickens Yard and adding to Ealing’s superb shopping offer."
