Police in Hayes got more than they bargained for when they got called to a disturbance, and found a man wanted for burglary hiding at the scene.

Officers attended an address on Uxbridge Road, Hayes, in the early hours of Saturday (April 16) morning, when they were called due to a "disturbance".

Insp Rob Bryan, Neighbourhood inspector for Hillingdon North, said: "Whilst on scene they found a 36-year-old male hiding in the address.

"Checks revealed he was wanted on suspicion of burglary and also on a recall to prison.

"He was arrested and has subsequently be charged with two burglaries.

"He remains remanded in our custody and will then be returned to prison."

The wanted man, 36, was still in police custody on Monday (April 18).
