Steeped in history, culture and as one of the most diverse boroughs in the country, Harrow has a lot on offer.

It provides that perfect compromise of being close to central London, yet nestled near the countryside.

There's plenty of things to do yet many places to enjoy and relax in.

Here are just *some* of the reasons we think Harrow borough is great.

Harrow has produced some pretty awesome celebrities

Supporting Actor winner Dev Patel with his award in the winners room during the 70th EE British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) at Royal Albert Hall

Accepting his BAFTA award, actor Dev Patel said: "I used to watch this in Rayners Lane with my parents at the end of the Piccadilly Line, and for all of us to be here in our black and white and to walk the carpet, it’s kind of an out-of-body experience."

The actor is one of our greatest, having started off in E4 teen drama Skins and reached massive success in Hollywood, recently starring in Lion.

And Sherlock and Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch attended Harrow School . We think that counts.

Just look at the amazing buildings

Beautiful architecture from many eras can be seen all around the borough.

The Grade II Elliott Hall auditorium was built in 1904 , and is now known as Harrow Arts Centre .

But it's not just a historic building, it's a hub of theatre, music, arts and dance.

The churches alone are just gorgeous.

A walk to the iconic St Mary's Church, atop Harrow-on-the-Hill, is a must.

As is the ruin of the old St John the Evangelist Church, in Old Church Lane, Stanmore .

Everywhere you turn, there's a piece of history

None other than Winston Churchill was educated at Harrow School.

There is so much good food to eat

From Caribbean and cuisine from every region of India, to tapas and traditional English afternoon tea - Harrow really is a flavourful treat for foodies.

It caught the eye of Hollywood blockbuster makers

The Hitman's Bodyguard was released into UK cinemas on August 18 and some of the scenes were shot at Harrow Civic Centre .

Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson , along with Gary Oldman were seen in 2016, filming inside the council chambers on May 27 and were there until May 29.

The film follows the story of the world's top bodyguard (Reynolds) who's new client, a hit man (Jackson), must testify at the International Court of Justice.

Samuel L Jackson and Ryan Reynolds star in The Hitman's Bodyguard filmed in Harrow, with (L) an extra dressed as a judge and (R) a crane holding lights shining on the Civic Centre

Using Harrow Council chambers as a filming location seems apt for such a story line.

At the time of filming more than 100 extras were on set, dressed in judicial costumes as well as some in what seemed to be special forces military costumes.

These are just a few reasons why Harrow is great. What did we miss? Let us know in the comments section below.
